Mass Flow Measurement Machine
Description
The mass flow measurement machine is an extremely accurate flow
measurement machine for producing master components for use when
calibrating or over checking different pieces of equipment. It controls the fluid
temperature and pressure by continually flowing through the same
circuit whether measurement is in progress or not, so eliminating
differing flow conditions caused by flowing through different circuit paths. The system
incorporates a manually loaded fixture with an automatic clamp that
operates at the beginning of the test. Control is carried out by
dedicated control hardware with password protection to all parameters,
limits and constants. Test results are automatically output at the
end of the test enabling them to be logged on a pc for further
analysis or data archival purposes.
Tests can be carried out with up to 50 bar back pressure or, in
addition,
complete delta Q tests for lower flow rates.
In line density
measurement may be added as an option for even greater accuracy and
convenience.
Mass Flow Machine
Operation
A component is loaded into the test fixture which is then manually introduced into the machine. At test initiation, the component is clamped and fluid is flowed. The system will prevent a test from being started until all the required test conditions are within limits. When a test is started, the fluid is diverted from returning to tank to a collection vessel. The fluid is collected for an accurately measured period of time (resolution of 0.0001 seconds) when it is then diverted back to tank. The volumetric flow rate of the fluid during the measurement period is calculated using the density, mass and time.
